H.J. Faust recognized for construction excellence for Miller Motors and Low Daily Projects

H.J. Faust is being recognized for excellence in construction from among nearly 70 building projects that were completed in 2021.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin will honor H.J. Faust with a Silver Projects of Distinction Excellence in Construction Award for the Low Daily Brewery and Miller Motors Body Shop in Burlington, WI.

Low Daily is a local craft brewery in the Burlington community whose goal is to bring back brewing beer to the downtown area. The project began in February of 2020, and faced some unique challenges. The historical building that we purchased at 700 N Pine Street in Burlington was built in 1926 as a train station for ‘The Milwaukee Electric Rail & Light Ca.’ electric railroad. Residential heating and cooling units were added in a second floor space, as well as the 2″‘ floor rooftop, to replace the older combined rooftop units. The separate brewing area section of the building also presented challenges, as it didn’t have its own heating source. Overall, the Low Daily project was an interesting and exciting for all involved.  From the creative design/build architecture and onsite installation ingenuity to the last minute boiler venting requirements; this project was a perfect example on how our team creates success for our contractor partners and business owners. We thank PSG Inc for being the general contractor on this job.

Miller Motors, a car dealership that has been serving the Burlington, WI community for over 75 years, had grown and expanded past the current confides of their showroom and express service. In order to offer more services to customers, Miller Motors wanted to add a new body shop across the street from their current location. H.J. Faust was asked to Design Build the HVAC systems. Throughout this project, H.J. Faust was challenged to collaborate, design/build a system that fit all the needs of the client and keep those using the building safe from potentially harmful chemicals. In addition, during COVID-19, price increases from suppliers made getting the project done within budget difficult but with proper planning and preparing ahead of time, H.J. Faust was able to complete the job and give the customer the desired outcome.  From engineering to final startup, our dedicated team led another successful project for a very happy customer. We thank Bob Riggs Construction for being the general contractor on this job.

The program had a total of 69 project submissions, with 30 receiving silver awards and 25 receiving gold awards.
